GMV holds sixth annual Christmas card competition at Millennium Primary School
Greenwich Millennium Village (GMV), a joint venture between Countryside and Taylor Wimpey in association with the Mayor of London, held its sixth annual Christmas Card competition at Millennium Primary School on Monday, December 17.
Entries were accepted throughout November, with hundreds of school children taking to the drawing board to recreate the magic of Christmas with their colourful creations. Trisha Patil was crowned as this year’s talented winner. As well as a £50 gift voucher and certificate, Trisha also received printed versions of her card to give to her friends and family.
Trisha’s winning entry depicted an enchanting winter wonderland on the front side of the card which included a reindeer, snowman and even a set of Christmas trees in the background. A lovely portrait of Santa Claus was featured on the back end of the card.
The runners-up in the competition also produced wonderfully designed cards. They were Daniel Egorov, who came in second place, and Eli Volponi, in third place.
As in previous years, Countryside also donated £200 to Millennium Primary School, which will contribute towards next year’s curriculum.
Chris Bladon, Director of Greenwich Millennium Village comments: “For the sixth year running, it has been an absolute pleasure to hold this competition. The standard of entries this year was particularly high and choosing the winner was no easy task. I would like to congratulate Trisha Patil and also thank the school and all the pupils who competed. I look forward to seeing the fantastic designs the students come up with next year.”
Samantha Hoyer, Headteacher of Millennium Primary School, comments: I would like to thank Greenwich Millennium Village for organising this competition for the sixth year running. It’s an event the children always look forward to and it really helps to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Once again, some very impressive designs have been put forward this year. I’d like to congratulate the three winners as well as everyone else who participated to make this a wonderful event.”
